Engineering studies encompass very different realities under a common name. You only need to look at the number of engineering schools in France - more than 200 schools accredited on September 1, 2016 - to realize the diversity of the training they offer. Agriculture, transport, electronics, IT, mechanics and many more: the sectors of activity which recruit engineers are very numerous. But what are the most sought after profiles?

By analyzing more than 10,000 offers published in one year on the Cadremploi  site , here are the profiles of engineers most sought after by employers. Level of education required, industry, hiring wages: find out

1 - Works Engineer

Profile sought mainly in construction, the works engineer manages all stages of the construction of a site. This position is mainly obtained at bac +5 level. A young graduate who works as a works engineer will start with a salary of around € 2,700 gross monthly, and can hope to earn up to € 7,850 monthly at the end of their career.

2 - Method Engineer

Much sought after in the industry, the method engineer can specialize in the aeronautics or industrial equipment sectors. The method engineer is involved in the design of a product to analyze the different phases and the means of production that will be necessary for its production. With a bac + 5 level, the beginner method engineer can claim a gross monthly salary of more than 2,500 euros.

3 - Quality Engineer

This engineer of bac + 5 level also works in industry, within large groups or SMEs. Its role is to define and organize quality control procedures within a production unit or a company. The remuneration of a young graduate quality engineer is around 35,000 euros gross per year.

4 - Production Engineer

The production engineer oversees the manufacturing programs, scheduling, logistics, maintenance, supply and planning in the production chain. He works particularly in the sectors of industrial equipment, the food industry or IT services. His salary as a beginner is around 2,500 euros gross per month, the average salary being more than 52,000 euros gross annually.

5 - Industrialization Engineer

The industrialization manager produces, develops and perfects the production processes. He is attentive to innovations to optimize existing processes, and adapt to new technologies and raw materials. He works in mechanics, electronics, and many other sectors. The Product Industrialization Engineer earns between 3,700 euros and 5,800 euros gross per month, or approximately 4,750 euros gross monthly on average.

6 - Price Engineer

The price-studies engineer specializes in construction. He is responsible for evaluating, costing and planning the construction of a project, for an architect or a construction company. It assesses the needs in materials, manpower, etc., and adapts to the progress of the site, and to any backlash, to stay within the budget initially set. A beginner in the profession earns an average of 38,000 euros gross per year, for an average salary of 52,000 euros gross in the profession.
